RUNE EDVARDSEN SITE “Children OF THE WORLD”

Dina Center is a oasis of life for children in Goma, a city in D.R. Congo.
This nation have lost 4 million people in war the last 4 years.
Dina Center has capacity of 94 girls.
And most of them comes from the warzones in Masisi Mountains.

Dina Center

D.R. Congo has had all the problems a nations can have. Wars and hunger and vulcano eruptions.

They received millions of refugees when the massacres in Rwanda took place in ’94. Many never returned.

Dina Center is a center and home for girls in Goma in D.R. Congo. This girls have been raped and violated by soldiers in the areas they live. Today we have places 52 girls in Dina Center in Goma. In the near future we will have the total of 90 girls in this center.

In February this year we are going to setup more space for more children in Dina Center. If you want to support us in this work let us know. The children of Congo needs you.

PROJECT:
Dina Center has a good property in Goma, D.R. Congo. We have built the first building that can house 52 girls. In our plans we need to build a small clinic to take care of the girls after the terrible things they have been through. There is many local people working in the centre and most are women. Mrs. Muluri is the leader of the work, and she and a group of women go out to different areas looking for violated girls.

Children will go through counseling and attend schools. They have a home and people they can trust who loves them.

There is so much sad happening to children in Congo. I have found a forgotten world there. When a child is raped or killed in my country papers and news and all Norwegians will be chocked and in high alert. In Congo there is no help. We are there and would like to start many centers for the Congolese children.

We are also working on family reunions.

These are the first 25 girls who came to Dina Centre.
